Abstract

The article deals with the construction and use of a simple muon telescope, built from scintillation detectors and lead shielding. It describes the principle of cosmic ray detection, the design of the instrument, and the measurement methodology. Experiments confirmed the existence of the barometric effect and showed the possibility of monitoring the influence of reinforced concrete shielding. The potential dependence of muon frequency on temperature is also discussed. In conclusion, the possible didactic use of the device in physics teaching at secondary schools is suggested, especially as a tool for introducing particle physics and developing data processing skills.
