Abstract

In this paper, we analyse textbooks and teaching materials for elementary, secondary, and higher education institutions about the concept of potential energy in gravitational and electrostatic fields. Based on the analysis, we discuss various methodological approaches used in their interpretation and propose a sequence and method of teaching this topic to address the identified shortcomings and requirements.
