Abstract

Symmetrical permanent magnets are used for the measurement of remnant magnetization (magnetic polarization) for three different types of hard magnetic materials (Ferite, FeNdB and SmCo magnets). The applied method is based on the measurement of magnetic induction on the axis of the magnetic square plate and cylinder. An analytical formula could be derived in the form of remnant induction and form factor product, which includes the dimension of the magnet and the distance from its surface on the axis of symmetry. Remnant induction is further calculated by the least square fit of magnetic induction data.
