Abstract

This paper presents a simple derivation of the relation for calculating the deviation of two non-zero vectors in the plane using the scalar product. Unlike the deviation of lines, which is limited to the interval from 0∘ to 90∘, the deviation of two vectors is defined as the magnitude of a convex angle that ranges from 0∘ to 180∘. The use is demonstrated with several examples, including cases in three-dimensional space. The text also discusses applications to geometric figures such as the cuboid and tetrahedron, and shows the procedure and calculations for specific cases.
