Modelling of conics in a dynamic environment

Abstract

The contribution focuses on the possibilities of dynamic geometry environments in visualizing the parabola as a limit case of the hyperbola and the ellipse. We describe in detail how to create a dynamic construction in GeoGebra software which imitates such a limit using a slider. In the second half of the paper we discuss the limit process in terms of the resolution of the eye, and in terms of the resolution of GeoGebra software.
