Abstract

Modern measurement methods enable determining of the speed of a tennis ball at serve contactless using several high-speed cameras. The speed of the balls can be as high as 250 km per hour for the top-class tennis players. Is it possible to compute this upper limit using high-school physics? Despite the fact that the presented paper contains some oversimplified statements it could be an interesting practice of several laws of physics.
