On basic theorems about a right-angled triangle

Abstract

The article deals with theorems on a right-angled triangle, especially the Pythagorean theorem and Euclidean theorems on the legs and on the altitude, and further with reverse theorems to all these theorems. In some textbooks, little attention is paid to the inverted theorems to the Pythagorean theorem and to both Euclidean theorems. This article contains in the end some important applications, i.e. examples and their solutions based first of all on the above mentioned reverse theorems.
