Abstract

Efforts for the active engagement of a student in the learning process and adaption of learning to the students' abilities also lead to the search and implementation of new forms of assessment. Formative assessment can be characterized as a set of processes based on various assessment strategies for collecting information on student learning and using it to make decisions to guide and adapt further learning according to the needs and abilities of students. Various tools for applying formative assessment in mathematics teaching are presented in the article together with the description of the experience and recommendations for the use of selected assessment tools in school practice.
