Verification of the equation of a rotational motion using video measurement

Abstract

The article presents a method for verifying the equation of motion of a rotating body with the help of a video experiment using a rotation apparatus. Part of the apparatus is a rod with symmetrically placed weights, by changing the position of which its moment of inertia can be changed. Measurements of the angular displacement of a rotating rod from time for two different values of the moment of inertia and for the same value of the moment of force make it possible to determine the values of the angular acceleration. By comparing the values obtained from this experiment with the values calculated, the validity of the rotational motion equation is verified.
