Abstract

The article describes the idea of Minkowski method of measurement geometric figures. The basic part of the article is a mathematical expression for the lengths of plane curves, the areas of surfaces in space, and especially the surface areas of solids. Important examples of the use of Minkowski method in elementary geometry are mentioned in the final part of the article. These examples, which illustrate the nature of this method, can be applied in an interesting way in high school (especially for seminar) and university teaching in geometry and calculus.
