Czech Curricular Reform and Problems of Mathematical Education

Abstract

As a consequence of Bologna process, five-year masters teacher education programmes have been divided into three-year bachelors and two year masters studies in the Czech Republic. The aim of this paper is to describe some problems connected with this process. The notions competence, problem solving and transfer are discussed in connection with mathematical literacy. The author believes that the level of quality of our school can be improved trough the support of the productive culture of teaching and learning.
