Comparison of the characteristics of the tone generator and the PC sound card
Abstract
In this study we tried to compare the current-voltage characteristics of the tone generator and PC sound card as AC voltage sources for some experiments in physics in the textbook Electricity and Magnetism for the 3rd year college students. This study is focused on the basic parameters of the sources, namely on their VA and frequency characteristics, and their suitability for usage in measuring the capacitance, frequency dependence of capacitance and inductance, and frequency characteristics of parallel RLC circuit. The measurement results have been subjected to statistical tests to demonstrate how significant the measured values differ from the theoretically calculated ones, and the difference between the both AC voltage sources mentioned above.Downloads
